Noise Vibration and Harshness ( NVH ) :
Brief Outline : NVH is very important consideration in automobile engg and in other branches of engg . We all are very sensitive to the acoustic signals and this course prepares you to make a career in this field . How Subjective targets are converted into objective ones through detailed market survey and how do we achieve a good design for low vibration and noise are discussed in this course . HYPERMESH and MSC-NASTRAN are the tools used for this course.
Eligibility : Post Graduate Enginnering students of Mechanical , Production ,Automobile , Civil ,Chemical and other branches or experienced candidates.
Prerequisite : Finite Element Modeling and Basic FEA Course.
Contents : What do we mean by NVH ? Why it is important in Industry , Practical applications in automobile and aersopace industry , Types of problems and Understianding Direct and Modal Frequency Response , Modal Space basics , How many and which modes ? Power Spectral Density input , Characterization of random data inputs , Fourier Transform Conversion , Sampling rate . Modal acceleration method , Control System Terminologies, Transfer functions and tactile response parameters, Acoustics Fundamentals , Basic Principles of Sound and wave proagation , dB and dB (A) scales , Acoustic Cavity analysis . Noise Transfer Path Analysis and Sound Quality Engineering.
