Advanced Static finite element Analysis
Brief outline : It is said that all the practical problems are nonlinear whereas linear static is the first level of approximation in engg. Analysis . This course starts with the limitations of linear static finite element analysis . When we should carry out Nonlinear FEA and detailed discussion on types of nonlinearities are followed by Practical examples and applications .Classification of problems , strain and stress measures in nonlinear analysis , Solution methodologies . Inertia Relief , Submodeling and Superelement analysis are also introduced . Practical Project Work . HYPERMESH for FE Modeling and FEA with MSC- NASTRAN are the tools that we use for the course .
Eligibility : Enginnering /Diploma in Mechanical , Production ,Automobile , Civil ,Chemical and other branches or experienced candidates.
Prerequisite : Finite Element Modeling and Basic FEA Course.
Contents : Background review of Linear static analysis in MSC NASTRAN . Geometric , material and boundary /contact nonlinearities in nature . How do we characterize them , When to go for Nonlinear Finite Element analysis . True Strain and Stress and other strain and stress measures in Nonlinear Finite element analysis . converting Engineering Stress-Strain Curve to True StressStrain . Contact as an ON-OFF Switch , Newton Raphson and other solution methodologies .How to solve inertia relief problems through support entries , submodeling as a practical tool to solve stress analysis problems , superelement analysis .Direct and iterative solvers , Practical tutorials and project work .
